Ending the Weekend with a Bang!

If you haven't figured out yet that I LOVE to cook...
They are almost all organic..those Hershey's Kisses sure aren't though! They are whole wheat too! (note: don't try to make them with store bought whole wheat flour, my cousin did that and she said they were awful! oops! Fresh ground wheat flour is way different than the stuff you buy in a 5 lb. bag!)

We have to drive four hours tomorrow to Morrilton, AR (and back) for Jason's great-aunt Athlene's funeral so I figured we needed something to take along.

Peanut Butter Hershey's Kiss Cookies
1 C. Butter (2 Sticks)
2 Eggs

4 Tbsp. Milk

2 tsp. Vanilla

2 tsp. Soda

1 tsp. Salt

1 C. Sugar

1 C. Brown Sugar

1 C. Peanut Butter

3 1/2 C. Flour

1 Small Bag of Hershey’s Kisses

Melt butter in microwave until very soft, not melted. (Or place in mixing bowl for about 40 minutes until room temperature.) Mix in all other ingredients except flour and kisses. Once mixed, mix in one cup of flour at a time (it will begin to get really thick!). Chill dough for 30 minutes - or longer. Place 1” balls on an un-greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 F for 9-11 minutes. Remove from oven and immediately press a Hershey’s kiss into the center of each cookie. Slighly under bake to keep them chewy (9 mins). They will be crunchy if you cook them the full time (11-12 mins)

Those look really yummy. I have a recipe that is sort of like it but you drizzle a raspberry sauce over the tops. They are divine! Have you ever bought your whole wheat flour at the Great Harvest Bread company? They will sell you a bag of their freshly ground flour, and it's not too expensive. Before we discovered Dave's wheat allergy, we bought that a lot. Makes YUMMY banana bread!
